Where did the time go?

A quick post then back to work! My friend Stephanie shared this with me and, like she said, this hit the nail on the head! Its funny how I spent my entire "adulthood" working with kids and I was 100% sure I knew all about kids and being a parent. And overall, I have some awesome knowledge from that, as well as experience from the view-point of a child care professional that is amazingly valuable now as a parent. But having a baby living with you and being responsible for every single thing in their lives (things I never in my wildest dreams would have thought about as a non-parent) is a lot to manage. I wanted this. I made a concious decision to have a child - absolutely. I love her more than life itself and I am in no way complaining because I wouldn't change it for the world. She is the best thing that will ever happen to me and her daddy. But it's true that what used to take 15 minutes now takes 4 hours! (This article says 45 minutes! She must have a toddler!) Having said that, this is a great answer to a non-parent's question of 'what does a stay-home parent do all day?' Other parents, what would you say to a friend who asked this? Non-parents, what is your take on it?
